Videos and podcasts are both growing in popularity. If you’re interested in using LaterPay’s WordPress plugin to monetize your videos or podcasts, you’re in luck! This is extremely simple to do and in this article we will walk you through the process step by step.

podcastAs we mention in our article outlining Monetization Strategies for Podcasts, there are several approaches you can take. This article will outline how to hide your video or audio content behind a paywall with our WordPress plugin. Another common approach is to solicit contributions for your podcast from your followers. If you are interested in that approach, click here to learn about using the LaterPay Button Generator to easily create contribution buttons that can quickly be added to your site.

If you’re new to the LaterPay WordPress plugin, we recommend that you first take the time to read through our article on Getting Started with the LaterPay WordPress Plugin. This will walk you through installing and configuring your plugin. Once that is complete, you will be ready to move on to the steps below.

Please note that these steps may vary slightly depending on your WordPress set up but if you don’t have a lot of customization then these 4 simple steps should get you up and earning revenue in just a few minutes!

Follow these steps to monetize your Video or Podcast:

  1. Set up your post as you would normally. Simply enter text into the Post Content and LaterPay Teaser area promoting your podcast.
  2. Use WordPress to "Add Media" and select your video or audio file.
  3. Set the LaterPay "Pricing for this Post" to the desired price for your podcast.
  4. Publish your post.

Done! The video or podcast should now be behind a paywall and therefore cannot be listened to until it has been purchased.

If it is not below the paywall, try adjusting the "Content Preview under Overlay" section under your WordPress > Settings > LaterPay or click here to reach out to our support team and we will be happy to take a look!
